Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW)

WAVAW offers one-to-one counselling and support groups for survivors of marginalized genders: cis and trans women, Two-Spirit, trans and/or non-binary people who have experienced sexual assault.

Our counselling model supports survivors to cope with the impacts of violence, ranging from anger and grief to issues surrounding sexuality, intimacy, and trust.

Family Services North Shore

Individual counselling for women age 19 and older who have experienced relationship abuse, sexual assault, and/or physical, emotional, or sexual abuse at any age.

Family Services North Shore

Clinical Counselling Services available to children, youth, adults, couples, and families who wish to make positive changes in their lives. Services offered on a sliding fee scale due to the support of donors, including United Way of the Lower Mainland.

G.V. Counselling and Education Society

This service is focused on the individual’s immediate or near future concerns. It is a one-on-one meeting between the counsellor and the client. The two will form an alliance, relationship, or bond that enables trust and personal growth.

Family Services North Shore

Counselling for children and youth ages 2-19 who have experienced sexual abuse and/or assault. Counsellors use a combination of art, sand tray, and talk therapy with clients. 

Family Services North Shore

Counselling for children & adolescents under age 19 who are coping with the stress and fear of watching a parent’s violent and abusive behavior. Sessions may include time with the non-violent parent. This program is short term and runs for approximately 3-6 months.

Battered Women's Support Services

Groups are intended to connect women with one another in order to alleviate isolation, share information, raise awareness, develop coping and recovery skills, and plan for a life free from abuse.

Women Against Violence Against Women

WAVAW's support groups are a great place for survivors to come together in the journey of healing. For more information, you can call their office during regular office hours (Mon-Fri, 9-5) or call our 24-Hour Crisis and Information Line. Bus tickets are always available, and childcare subsidy is available when prearranged for this program.
